<a href="http://www.IntegrativeMedicineAlternatives.com">Violet</a>

I agree that people who argue for using alternative - ie 'unproven' treatments for cancer are invariably people who have not had cancer themselves.

I think most of them would see things very differently if faced with a life-threatening illness and a choice between harsh but proven methods of treatment and relying on juice, herbs or restrictive diets to deal with it.

In my experience and from reading Q&A on this forum, it is usually a case of people having read case histories of those who claim to have been miraculously cured by alternative therapies, forgetting that the reader has no proof that the person ever had cancer in the first place, and certainly no proof that they are 'cured'. It is usually to such anecdotal evidence that believers in alternatives resort when faced with rational argument.

Also people undergoing conventional treatment often try complementary therapies at the same time, and some then credit the complementary therapy for their improvement - this is what has happened when you see the phrase 'my/her/his doctors were amazed!'.

<a href="http://www.IntegrativeMedicineAlternatives.com">Brenda</a>

i don't believe any of that crap.
There's research and facts behind chemo, radiation etc.
I know there are labs out there who do research on these alternative treatments. just I'm not willing to try any of it until there is conculsive research and facts from a legitimate lab proving it all.

Some people just need to have things to believe in. Like religion for instance.

<a href="http://www.IntegrativeMedicineAlternatives.com">Roman</a>

Of course alcohol makes things worse.

Who do you think make up the majority of alcoholics and drug addicts? Many people with anxiety realize that it is difficult for them to deal with problems so they drink or do drugs to relax and forget their worries. This is an unhealthy approach to problem solving. Trying to forget problems leads to worse anxiety and more drinking.

Start by seeing a therapist. They will probably have you interview with a psychologist. If you act the way you always do they will accurately diagnose your problems. Of course if you muscle relaxers and things like that, you could lie.... this would be worse than drinking.

<a href="http://www.IntegrativeMedicineAlternatives.com">Amelia</a>

Consuming alcohol can indeed make it worse.

are you a tea drinker because if you are there is this tea that a friend of mine drinks that helps her with her anxiety even though it's bitter at first there is a sweetness after wards, it is helping her and you don't have to have the ailment to drink their tea!

The tea that my friend is drinking is called Blue Tea green tea and it is good for calming, relaxing, and anxiety.

Hope this helps!

Check this site out:, it has a free downloadable manual that will teach you how to help remove the reasons for your anxiety. You can also find EFT practitioners that can work with you over the phone. Stop the alcohol if you can, it doesn't help. Good luck.

<a href="http://www.IntegrativeMedicineAlternatives.com">Aubrey</a>

I am a medical medical doctor. If any treatment is effective, I call it an effective treatment. If there is nothing but a faith in the effectiveness of a treatment then you can call it an alternative to traditional medicine.

Why do most large health plans cover some alternative therapies? THE ANSWER IS SIMPLE; MONEY. The insurers offer the coverage because so many people believe the therapies will work for them and if the health insurer does not pay for certain therapies, many people will not sign up for the insurance.

If it is strategically necessary for insurers to cover the expense of an alterrtnative therapies it is because it will increase their membership. The costs are usually low, malpractice risk is less worrisome, traditional physicians may be freed from some of the frustration of providing care for vague life difficulties and for which they have no clue or desire to continue to struggle with,

Many slightly embarrassing claims can now be made by practitioners renting offices next to heart surgeons and immunologists but they do not ring up huge bills and some are really sincere people who do no harm and provide a warm and re-assuring space within the often indifferent, sterility of medical clinics staffed by professionals who often cannot empathize with others and are poor communicators. Theyget away with it because they have the proven science principles in their hands. There comes a time when death seem and close at hand. At that point, most people look squarely at the facts and become more tradfitional in their approach to a problem - a real y big problem . Beliefs are seen to actually be attitudes thatin good faith have grown out a suspicion about institutions rather than doubting the biologic science we call medicine. Being suspicious of a biological science and seeking alternatives to the fundemental facts is like having suspicions that there is an alternative explanation for how a light bulb works.
